Deputy Sheriff [Delaware County Sheriff’s Office]

Wage Compensation We offer competitive wages at all levels and hiring incentives for certified officers. A non-certified applicant’s starting salary is $30.13 per hour or $62,674 per year, at (4) years of service, the wage rises to $36.99 per hour or 75,940 per year.

Public Safety Dispatcher [Muscatine County Joint Communications] 

Public Safety Dispatcher The Muscatine County Joint Communications Center (MUSCOM) is taking applications for a current opening and to create an eligibility list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher. Job duties include, but are not limited to: answering emergency and non-emergency phone calls and processing requests for assistance for law enforcement, fire and medical services.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, keyboarding/typing experience and ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification and Emergency Medical Dispatch certification. Experience in telephone or radio operations and previous dispatch experience is preferred, but not required. Must be available to work days, nights, holidays, weekends and on 12 hours shifts. Starting hourly wage is $21.05 (+ if experienced).

Police Officer [North Liberty Police Department] 

The City of North Liberty is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. Ideal candidates are community focused, have good judgement, excellent problem-solving skills, and want to serve others in a supportive environment. Applicants must meet minimum standards found at FAQs | ILEA (iowa.gov), have a good driving record, pass a background investigation, and reside within 20 miles of the corporate city limits within 1 year of hire.

Post-offer psychological exam, physical, and drug screen are required. All non-certified applicants will be required to take the written (P.O.S.T.) if they have not tested within the past eight (8) months at another agency, with an overall passing score of 80% or higher. A study guide and a practice test can be obtained through Stanard and Associates at https://www.applytoserve.com/Study/. Applicants can either take the test on the evening of January 5, 2022, or the morning of January 8, 2022, at the North Liberty Police Station.

Qualified applicants taking the written exam will be required to pay a fee of $30 at the time of testing. Non-certified applicants who pass the written exam will move on to the required physical testing and a brief interview that will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the North Liberty Community Center located at 520 W Cherry Street. Certified applicants will be contacted for interviews prior to the physical testing date. Applicants who are current certified law enforcement officers are eligible for a lateral transfer.

The City may consider buying out employment contracts. The current salary range is $53,872 to $74,152, with 8 years of service, plus an excellent benefit package. The Mar-Mac Police Department is an entity of the Mar-Mac Unified Law Enforcement District, which encompasses the cities of Marquette and McGregor, in northeast Clayton County, Iowa. The police department is currently funded for three full-time officers and part-time/reserve officers on an as needed basis. The cities of Marquette and McGregor is located along the banks of the Mississippi River. The police department is the primary law enforcement agency to 1,163 (2020 census) year-round residence and hundreds more during the summer months. Due to our geographical location, the Police District experiences a significant growth in daily transient population and commuters. This growth is due to the neighboring city of Prairie du Chien, WI (2010 US Census Population – 5,911), local employers, area attractions, nearby festivals, and a state and federal highway.
